Advantage SW‘s Procurement Club operates in the social housing sector. Housing Associations and Local Authorities with housing stock in the south west can join Advantage SW, becoming a Member. Membership currently includes 9 Registered Providers, 3 Councils and 2 ALMOs with a combined property stock of over 125,000. Advantage SW is funded on a subscription basis.
Advantage SW awards framework contracts to suppliers. We have concentrated on supply contracts (including installation for doors and windows). Members then manage their own requirements under these frameworks, placing orders, arranging deliveries and paying invoices themselves.
We are now delivering multi-supplier frameworks and dynamic purchasing systems for Members to access.
A full time Procurement Manager is employed to manage the procurement process, and a Contracts Manager to assist Members in the implementation and management of the frameworks. The work of the Procurement Club is directed by a steering group which is made of of directors and senior managers of the Members. Total savings made to date are £36m, which represents an overall 24% saving to Members.
