Advantage  SW  generally  uses  a  “restricted  procedure” methodology  for  awarding  contracts.  The  defining  element  of  this  procedure  is  that  there  is  a  pre-qualification  process  for  companies  wishing  to  be invited  to  tender. Those  companies who we  judge  as best able  to meet our requirements will be  invited  to tender.  Normally  we  invite  between  5  and  8 companies.

 

We  use  a  web-based  electronic  sourcing system  to  manage  the  tendering  process at www.advantageswtenders.co.uk

 

Potential suppliers can register for free. We  then use  e-auctions for price submission.

 

All recommendation and decisions are made by the Members. This is important in ensuring that all contracts awarded meet the Members requirements.

 

There are five main principles  that we work  to when  awarding contracts:

 

* tenant involvement

* Member involvement

*  value for money, not lowest price

*  e-auctions for pricing

*  legislative compliance
