New Technologies

Increasingly landlords are seeking to install alternative forms of heating and electricity generation into homes. This is for two reasons:
  • reduce the carbon emissions of housing stock
  • generate an income through Feed in Tariff or Renewable Heat Incentive

The New Technologies sub-pages look in more detail at solar thermal water heating, which produces hot water that can be stored, and solar photovoltaics (PV) which produce electricity that has to used immediately or is "exported" back into the national grid.
